Brooder

I recently purchased an old metal brooder. Does anyone know what the proper wattage for the bulb used in these units? Thanks

Usually 40-60 watts, but since the brooder is metal, maybe 35 watts or a little lesser.

Try a 25 or 40 watt and put a thermometer in there to test the temps. You want a good steady 95 degrees and cooling toward the outer edges for the first week. Since it is something older you may have to play around with the bulbs until you get it just right.
