Hi guys. So I know that pretty much everywhere says that chickens don't overeat. But my silkie girl's behavior changed drastically after she kicked out the chicks she raised this summer. Since shes gotten out of 'momma mode' I've noticed she eats more than my other two chickens combined! She has been eating to the point that her crop is distended and wider than her body, which is worrying? They are all also house chickens that wear diapers regularly so I have a good idea how much she is pooping, and it is a *lot* . Sometimes I have to change her diaper twice in a day, while all my other chickens can go a full day or two without needing a change. Also, I have noticed her poo quality is not good. This morning it was like black oily goo, and I'm wondering if that is because she is just eating so much. They are on crumble feed with BOSS, mealworms, and leftovers for treats. Her behavior is normal, she seems perfectly happy and is drinking and sleeping well. I just don't know if there is anything I should be doing to help her? Should I even be worried about this?
Thanks!
Thanks!
