Hi there,

I have 6 2 week old chicks Tomorrow I plan to buy six day old chicks. I want to put them all in the same brooder, but what do I do about the temp. Right now they are in a rubber made box with a regular 100 watt bulb. But when I add the new girls I am going to move them to a large rubber made feeding trough. I thought I could put a clip lamp on one end with a heat lamp in it and a clip lamp on the other end with a regular bulb???
Any suggestions?

Personally, I would put the new chicks by themselves for a week in their own brooder box then move them in with the older chicks as long as they look like they're doing well.

I was gonna put new babies in w/ my 2 weekers but when I saw them next to each other I thought no way. The 2 weekers were so huge next to the new ones and were galloping around like crazy, so I put the new babies in a sperate brooder box and have a hardware cloth covered window between the two so they can get righ nexct to each other. Hope to get everyone into a new bgger brooder in the next week or so......

they should be fine i did that with mine this year and i had 4 week olds and my chicks were only 4 days old you can give it a try and if it dose not work out you can remove them:)
