How long should i brood my light brahma chicks during cold weather. i live in florida so its not really, really cold this time of year. Thanks

Just until they get their feathers.

They'll also huddle together at night, to keep them

even warmer!

I'd go ahead and put a think layer of bedding

down, and possibly get them a light for the time being.

If they've been under a light in their brooder, it's not good just

to snap it off and put them outside. For a few weeks you need to be

working on 'weaning' them off of the lamp. We turn the lamp off in the day time

at 3 weeks old and only leave it on at night. Then we'll start leaving it off 100%

of the time after a couple weeks of just turning it off in the day time.
