I have a brooding hen that has been setting for about 10 days. Today she choose to not set on the nest. I have the nest in a dog pen. The hen is off the nest and resting on a bar that I have across the pen. I watched her off and on for about 12 hours. She never sat on the nest during this 12 hours. The temp is 50 to 70. I took the eggs and put them under an other hen.

Do you think the eggs will hatch ???

I've had some surprising results from eggs that cooled for many hours, even some that got seriously chilled during the hatching process. If you can sneak the eggs out from under the hen (maybe a few at a time) you might candle them to see if they are still developing. I wouldn't write them off just yet!
