Brooding meat birds with layers

Does the top come off of that incubator? If not, I think the chicks will need much better ventilation that it would provide as a brooder, as well as being rather difficult to clean.

It looks really neat, though!

I had layer and broiler chicks together for a couple of weeks, the broilers quickly out grew the layer chicks and pushed them away from the food and even trampled a couple. The second time, the layer chicks were 2 weeks old when I got broiler chicks and they managed to not kill each other before I removed the layer chicks at 8 weeks old.
