Brooding my chicks

hello we are just starting with chicks, don't have an established flock thinking when it's times for the chicks to go outside it might be a good idea to have some older chickens out there though, any ideas on that

We have 2 oprington chicks that I am guessing are a week old or less.
2 chicks they weren't sure on the breed or age they are, that have feathers on their wings and starting of the tail feathers.
1 bantam chick that they thought was going to die so gave it to us seems to be doing much better now it isn't alone eating and drinking fine just really noisy.
A duckling
House in a big plastic feeder inside the house wash room with a heat lamp, as we are a cold climate. We have a long feeder and a plate in there for their starter feed and 3 water bowls . The duckling seems to be acting motherly to the chicks, and the boxer goes and peeks in to check on them about every 15 minutes if we aren't right there with them , if the stray cat comes to the door even though it can't get in the house he chases it off.

We don't have an established flock, would it be better to get a few older chickens before the chicks are old enough to go outside?

How long should we wait before starting to take them outside for a bit to start acclimatizing them?

we are planning a roost for night time and safety but they will mostly be free range.
