brooding turkeys with chicks?

I have heard you are not supposed to do this due to black head in turkeys. I had one turkey hatch and no others. I have plenty of chicken chicks, can I put them together? can they all freerange in the yard together when they are older?
I am looking for a turkey friend for the baby but incase I can't find one??
