Broody....again

So, my Black Sex Link Scrappy is broody again....just in time for her flock sisters to molt.....

Half of me wants to post a chicken give away add.... but she is the flock leader .... a loved pet (she squats for us and accepts pettings readily) ...... and she's quite beautiful (you can't see it very well in the pic but she has lovely black spots on her orange chest)

So, plan B would involve getting her some eggs to hatch so we can break her sooner than later. The question is what sort of eggs do you think I should buy? Easter Eggers? Barred Rocks? I'd like something that people might readily want. I'd even drive them to their house (we live in Central Missouri). I just want my chicken back to non crazyville...

To break my broody I got 4 little newly hatched chicks and sneaked them underneath her while she was asleep. Like magic, the next morning when she woke up she wasn't broody anymore, she was mommy!

..... my wife found some Ameraucana eggs on Ebay. The pics look legit. I'd prefer to get something for a known commodity in the community though...

Hey! I just looked at your page and that Ameracauna...is her name really Jasmine?! I have one and she looks just like yours and the kids named HER Jasmine!

I think were probably going to go with breeder quality/true Ameraucana chicks. Not sure how many we will get but it might make the roosters (because they'll be straight run) somewhat valuable. We just need to decide on a breeder because our broody isn't crazy....she LOCO! We threw her off the nest and she walked around the yard all bristled up and moving like a wind up toy. It was funny to some extent but with her that can last for a LONG time. And yes our Easter Egger (the blue silvery one) is named Jasmine (Princess Jasmine to be exact). She the best forager of the bunch and smart as a whip.....and very beautiful
