Broody already???

Hi all, Is it possible for a 6 month banty RIR to go broody after laying just 6 eggs? Matilda is on one and very adamant about not moving, posturing and well growling, pecked me pretty good too... should I let her set or is she just too young? Thanks for any info ya'll

Yep, it's possible. I myself had a Buff Orp go broody after laying one month. Unusual these days to have a broody RIR, but it happens. She may continue or just give up. Mine almost killed herself sitting on air for over three weeks, LOL. This spring she went on to do it again, but with happier results since I have a rooster now.
