Chirping
So, my broody hen hatched one chick and bailed. Thankfully I have another broody that doesn't have a clutch so I handed off the eggs but now I have a cold chick under a heating pad. Never dealt with new babies before, only the very active 2/3 day olds shipped to me. I've got the heating pad on high currently. This seems to have reduced the cheeping somewhat
. I'm hoping that's good... Though it does occasionally wiggle out from under the heating pad so perhaps too hot? The chick is not yet on its feet, is that normal? And for those using the heating pad method, which setting do you use it on for the new babies? I understand this one won't need food/water for a day or two but I'm more worried about maintain appropriate temps. Please help!
