All of my Silkies and Sizzles go broody, I have 15 or so, so it can be a mess in their coop during the spring and summer months! Growling, puffing, squawking meanies everywhere! A bantam mottled Cochin shares their coop, and she likes to join in the fun too. My Japanese bantam has never gone broody, but she also didn't lay much last year (still fairly young and getting into the swing of things), I'm curious to see what she does this spring. I have a bantam Phoenix who is an excellent mother also.
I used to breed LF Cochins, and they were great broodies as well. I ordered 4 pullets this year to have some again!
