Broody by water

Hi. My Ancona is brooding a nest, ducklings should be here in about a week. She built her nest about 3 ft from their pond, (stock tank buried in the ground). Is it safe for when the ducklings hatch out? Should I separate them from it until they're older?

I see ducklings out in the water at very young ages here at UC Davis.

wild ducks take their ducklings straight into the water once they all hatch. I would think it would be okay for domestic ducks but not sure.

It's fine as long as you make sure the ducklings are able to get back out (steps or a ramp or similar). If not, they can drown.
