One of my calicos went broody! Yesterday was her first full day so they should hatch if all goes as planned on or very near Mother’s Day! I put 8 eggs under her, at least 2 of which are pure calico Cochins. And 2 of them are EE bantam x calico Cochin bantam.
And the other 4 could be from a mottled Cochin, calico Cochin, goldneck D’ uccle, or silver sebright. All crossed with a calico Cochin roo. Now we wait! :fl Meanwhile if you need me I’ll be building a new bantam coop, lol!

We have a broody calico too! I'll see if I can grab a picture--she's a bit cranky. ;)

Edit: Got one! She is an angry bird, as you can see! :D

I think she has 4 or 5 eggs under her, but I'm not sure whose they are. :)

I asked our daughter what kind of eggs she has under her: the moms are a black bantam cochin, calico bantam cochin (her), a bantam red pyle OEGB, a buff rock, and a full-sized barred cochin. The possible dads are all bantams of some kind--red cochin, various OEGBs, silkie, gold sebright, barnyard mix, black dutch, or black tailed buff Japanese. Could be interesting! ;)

I love her colors! Where did you get her? I have never seen them up until I found a local man that breeds them .

Thank you! My daughter saw her at our county fair last year and fell in love with her. Her owner told us she was for sale, so we bought Flower and a gorgeous lavender orpington hen from her. Both hens are super friendly and we're so happy we got them!

Good luck with your girl! We will most definitely update with pictures once the little ones arrive. She just decided to be broody for real, after a couple weeks of "maybe I'm broody--maybe I'm not".

Mine took 36 hours to be convinced. She actually started sitting on eggs in a feed dish!

Well she is still going strong, but in case something happens and she quits, I have a backup plan! A silkie on my main flock just went broody yesterday, and while not ideal(different flock) it is nice to know I’ll have an option is something happens.

Today I cleaned the nest and candled the eggs, and all 7 eggs are developing normally!
I let little miss broody out while I was doing this and she walked around a bit and ate a little then she just stood at the door waiting for me to bring her eggs back.
She is such a good broody!
Saturday is the first day the eggs COULD hatch, but the first eggs will probably start piping on Sunday (Mother’s Day!).
one egg never started to develop So i removed it a while ago.
