I am probably literally counting my chicks before they hatch, since only 1 egg out of 7 has a pip so far.

But...I am just wondering if there is any real con to taking baby chicks away from the mom? Other than the heartfelt mom/baby bond thing. Will she be extremely upset, stay broody, or anything else I have no clue about?

I have other chicks in the brooder, so if there are new ones they would have friends and the momma is one of my only 3 laying hens. We would really like her to go back to laying sooner than 2-3 months. Plus I don't seem to have the best set up at the moment for her to raise the new chicks. My banty coop and run are still being built, so she is in the juvenile pen with 9 two month olds and a special needs hen.

I'm just not sure what to do

Only 3 babies hatched, so I will just leave them with their mom for awhile and see how it goes.
