Broody chicks and eggs 1 week apart - same time?

We are considering adding to our flock with some new day olds. Our intent is to use a Broody rather than heat lamp this time around.

Can we give them to our broody Silkie who's been sitting on her clutch for the past 10 days?

We have a year old Orpington showing signs of going broody but hasn't started to sit, if she was we would be good with two mommas.

Anyone have luck with day olds and eggs yet to hatch?

You can't give a Setting Hen Chicks because she will abandon the eggs to care for the Chicks.

Agreed! If you are going to add chicks, wait until the others have started hatching
