I am so excited to report that on Day 9 my broodies eggs look very good! I saw a lot of chicks moving in their shells! I think she has 10 eggs under her.... and every one that I picked up looked good - I only candled 4. I have decided to let her stay in the coop to have the babies (if all goes well). I may section of her best box for a day or two, but I'd like to try to let nature take its course. This was Buffy her first broody day.... I didn't realize she was broody yet, I thought she was just taking her sweet time laying an egg. THEN, she transformed into this! She still lets me get to her eggs and mess with her as much as I want. But she can be pretty vicious with the other chickens which is not her normal nature. This is my first broody, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed these babies hatch!
