broody duck

my indian runner seems to have gone broody. collecting eggs and sitting on them. i dont have a male but was wondering if i could slip some chicken eggs under her. has anyone ever tried this?

My only worry is if you have a pond, when the chicks hatch they might try to follow her in.

no pond, just water bowls? that fit one duck.
