I'm determined to get to the bottom of this! All three of my hens have gone broody within two months, each going up to a month or month and a half at a time!

Are there any 'factors' that would cause them to be more prone to becoming broody? I've never heard of any, but with my hens going broody right and left, I wonder if there really are some.

The biggest factor is that it's late spring, and that's when most birds go broody. Chickens are no exception, however, they can go broody most any time of year, but spring/early summer is the most popular for them.

Seems to be the time for birds...Some may be more or less prone to go broody by breed.
