I doscovered a couple days ago I have a Golden Comet lady sitting. She is i the coop with the other girls. What I have seen she hasnt moved. You try to approach her and she clucks and fluffs up great big. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for her to hatch me some babies. I have a alternante pen for these types of things. Should I move her now and then in a couple days give her some eggs to hatch. Or mover her and put her on eggs right away. Im so afraid if i leave her that she will have issues with other hens trying to get in her box. kinda risky. I am going to get some fertilized eggs from a neighbor. ANY advice is welcome!

You've got an excellent idea. Maybe do it in the evening when she'll be calmer. I would stick some eggs under right away, and if you don't have any, golf balls work too.

Moving her now and setting the eggs in a day or two is probably the safest way to go; I've done it both ways. I've also had one or two stop her broodiness entirely when I moved her.

Good luck with your girl! I love hatching under a broody.

Thanks. She has eggs under her but they arent fertile. Ill leave them until I get fertile ones. I just wasnt sure if she would get all irritated nad quit sitting if a I move her.

Ddawn,

I think that I will move her tonight and then get the fertile eggs and put under her in couple days
