I have three geese and judging by their laying pattern I assumed there were two geese and one gander. However I have tried hatching eggs in an incubator without success, they don't seem to be fertile.
However I have come back from holiday to find one of them is sitting on a very large nest with a clutch of eggs. Can she know whether they are fertile or not?? And what happens if the other one continues to lay in the same nest??

Help please!!!!

Nope she won't know if they are fertile, you'll need to crack open a few to check. Have you ever seen any mating going on? And if the other one continues to lay in the nest you'll have a very scattered hatch and a lot of the goslings won't make it to hatch day. Because the mama will get up and leave the nest of left over eggs to tend to babies.
