That’s what the seller calls that color, and that’s how the color appears on this website:

However, other sources say that the violet adult is a black color that resembles royal purple in some lights. My “Violet” adult looks more like my slate hen (see pic taken in late spring, slate in front, “violet” in back) and is a dusky clay color with reddish wings. Neither Slate nor Violet have any dotting. As a juvenile, I saw some violet color but she mostly looks dusty colored now. As a half grown juvenile, Violet was the most amazing mix of colors that would flash different colors as the light hit her feathers, but I couldn’t capture that on camera. Both Slate and Violet are bleached from the sun and look similar now, with solid dark legs. As keets, they looked with the slate and violet keets from the color chart linked above.

I suspect that your Violet is not a violet since they are supposed to be a non-dotted black guinea very similar to a Royal Purple without any dotting.

There are a number of colors that have similar looks as keets but wholly different looks as adults. I cannot tell Royal Purple keets apart from Bronze keets but you can tell them apart as adults..

Well Violet and Slate are both non-dotted somethings! Violet has never been black. In the absence of more info, I guess I’ll just keet calling her color violet since the keet and adult color match that website pretty well... Pictures as juveniles attached.

I do see dusty colors on her now that you point it out. Their development is odd-until I zoomed in I would have said she looks like Nugget -my lavender. But he's the only one in the batch I could identify w/certainty. R2Elk had to identify the rest. Ppl often think the RPs are black until the sun hits their feathers. Someone on here once posted an RP that showed stunning purple. Don't think they're on anymore, atleast didn't respond to my comment. But was a beauty.
It will be interesting to see what I end up with. Looking at genetics, I have a feeling all or most will be pied grays but it wld be nice to get one variance of brown/tan.

Actually, poking around a little more, I wonder if Violet is actually a pastel?

We had a lot of lavender keets last year so could really tell that they are not lavender. Lavender had the full dotting but neither of these birds (Slate and Violet) has any dotting at all. Here’s a pic with a lavender cock, two royal purples, Slate, and a pearl pied cock for comparison.
