I went out in the woods to collect today's eggs and there is a guinea in the nest! She's probably been there since noon when the other 2 came back from their daily walk to the nest. I can't predator proof her, and she probably only has 1 viable egg under her anyway (I always leave 5 marked eggs in the nest, they're at least a week old) I'm hoping she will give up and come in for bed tonight...but if she doesn't I cant leave her there! DH is out of town and I don't have anything but chicken wire and we all know that isn't strong enough.

So tell me.....how bad is it gonna hurt when I take her off?

i wear oven mitts when i move my broody but then again I am a big wimp and afraid of birds... my ds moves them with no gloves and says they are all talk and show ... the peck does not leave a mark on him (hes 13)
