One of my Orpingtons, Speckles, is broody. I read a lot about how to break her, and it seems like the chicken jail is the most successful. She’s seven months old.
I bought a dog crate, and now I’m wondering if it’s too small?
It’s 30” long, but looks small with her in it?
Thanks.
Broody breaking, while breaking my heart.

It isn't too small. She'll only be in there a couple days as long as she doesn't have anything solid to plunk her butt down on.
If you aren't having her hatch fertile eggs, you are doing her a favor.
It is about the same size cage we have always used. Usually they were hung from the ceiling of the hen house with a little food and water.
If you caught her early, try letting her out after 2 full days in there. If she goes back in the nest, back in jail she goes.

It's not too small.
Removing the roost would help(clever attachment BTW).
I just toss a piece of 2x4 on the floor to give relief to feet from mesh.
