Broody help

Finally! I'm so glad she's back to being a chicken instead of a broody lump. Mine decided to get out of the box on her own so no more snatching her off the nest for a potty break. She's got 9 days left until hatch day! I checked the eggs and all 3 are developing

GGBEAR I think doing chicks is easier than breaking a broody when they decide to be stubborn. My girl is a silki so she thinks broodiness is her life's calling. This time I decided to let her hatch her own eggs silkie/sizzle cross. Should be cute balls of fluff

This is also how I break my broody's! ( An excuse for more chickens!)

It's a good excuse. I started with 6 straight run and swore I'd keep 4 hens, no more. After 4 of the 6 turned out roosters and one hen got killed by a friends dog I ended up with 10 hens and one roo :) oops. Chicken math

Here are the chick pics!

The black hen in the background is dads sister who's decided that she's a chick and should be cared for along with the babies. She's a little slow in the head and has always been a bit retarded. Mum just accepted her as anoth chick and takes care of her too
