Broody hen and bad eggs

I have a broody hen and I put six eggs under her and it is day 19 and there is an awful smell coming from the brooder pen. I think one or more eggs have gone bad. Is there some way I can check to see if the eggs are still good.

You should be able to pull them out one at a time and give them the sniff test. If you can detect it from some distance it will be clear when you do one at a time. Be very careful, at that stage, explosion is imminent.

NOT the situation where you want to end up with "egg on your face"......BLECH!!!!

Not a good thing. It hasn't happened to me but to friends. I have had them explode when I dropped them into the compost pile.
