Hello everyone! I have had a broody hen that hatched out 2 chicks from her eggs, then 2 more were added, in place of 2 dud eggs. She hatched/adopted the chicks little more than a week ago, and she hasn't walked out with them or moved out of her cage she brooded in. I thought that after they hatched, she would take them out to forage or whatever, but now i'm wondering when that may happen. I have tried feeding her and her babies ( leaving out a feeder in her cage throughout the day, with the cage door open ), but other flock members keep coming in her cage and eating the food, making her move to the far end. Could she be scared of the hens, therefore not wanting to come out with her babies? Please, answers needed!
