Broody hen and laying

Will a broody hen continue to lay eggs after becoming broody?

My girl stops laying once she goes into "full broody" mode, meaning she is on the nest all the time except when getting up to eat, drink and get a quick dust bath.

My hen laid an egg about 2 days ago but I can't keep her off the nest, so this morning I put her into an old rabbit hutch but I had to put a board in one end because there was a hole in the wire where it has rusted through. She is laying on the board so will this still break her or does she have to be on wire at all times?
