Here's my Ireene - she's some sort of a silkie cross bantam, named after my best friend who has equally awesome red hair and is equally protective of her chicks (I mean kids, larvae, the non-feathered ones)

And here's the two moms together, Ireene and Olivia, with their chicks. They have eggs, too.

So crabby, those girls.

ETA See the little black one on the side? So funny, four yellow fuzzybutts and one black one.

My sweet SF Chica decided to go broody and since I did not have a rooster I bought her 6 Silkie eggs to sit on. This was her first time being broody.

Sweetest and Most content looking broody

This is Chica with the two chicks she hatched out, sadly one of them passed away so the remaining one is VERY spoiled, by it's mommy and it's grand-mommy(me

edited to add: They are both still alive in this pic. Litttle Fay had just hatched and was still wet and very tired.

And for fun here is a pic of the spoiled baby Fay

This is my big girl Bernice, and she sat on and hatched 12 Ameraucana chicks, out of 13, and then I gave her 9 more blue ones.
21 total, going in every direction.
Bernice is awesome !

Here's my BLRW broody wanna be mama. She hatched out 4 herself and then I tucked chicks 2 at a time under her each night from a hatch I had in the incubator until there were 12 chicks under her! She accepted them all! She's a really good mama! Guess she knew best!
