Broody hen! Deformed egg..

My bantam went broody. She has one egg that looks different from the rest. Its skinnier. Will the chick die inside of it?

By the way, the hen that went broody is 5 years old.
 
I wouldn't think so, at least not for sure. Sometimes, in the rush to complete a clutch they rush things. Give the egg the once over quickly, as long as the shell is hard with no holes or cracks etc. give it a couple days, then candle it. If you dont see anything than dont slip it back in. Since she has others she wont miss the odd one too badly. What have you got to loose?
 
I agree. Just wait it out. Unless it is HIDEOUSly deformed!
