Hi everyone,

this is my first time with Bantum Belgium Duccles - my hen goes broody so often which I read is normal with this breed. The last two times she was broody she went through a bit of a moult afterwards which again I thought was ok since we were changing seasons. She went broody AGAIN about 2 weeks ago but it only lasted 3 days this time - i managed to shock it out of her quicker this time. However, she is losing feathers again :( I thought maybe she wouldnt since we are in winter and she only went broody for a few days.

Her diet is good and well lets just say she isnt low on protein... (she is very good at catching mice), she is drinking water like normal and acting fine (a bit skittish but again that happens when she moults). When she moults i should add that she doesnt get bald spots. I believe because of her breed and it is mainly her smaller under feathers.

I have checked her for lice, mites etc. and the rooster does not mount her often as she doesnt really let him catch her haha + she doesnt have loss on her back.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

Any advice or insight would really help.
