I have two broody hens and I know one for sure has mites. Because two chicks hatched yesterday and the chicks are going back and forth between the two, I am sure they all have them. More chicks should hatch today. Should I remove the broody hens today and dust them with diatemateous earth or leave them until all chicks have hatched?

oh gracious... You should have treated several days ago... Treat the hen. Mover her and the chicks to a new CLEAN location. Treat the other broody also before hers hatch. Mites can kill the chicks quickly.

I put diatomaceous earth on both hens and bedding, I don't see anymore mites but I am sure they are still there. We are on day 23 for the other eggs and they still haven't hatched so I don't know if they will. I will move everyone out today and clean the coop. Hopefully all goes well. Thanks for your post.
