I need to know what to do with momma when she finally comes out of her "spot" that she put her nest? She is somewhere none of the other girls could get to her(she is smaller than them) and I can't get to her eggs to contain her somewhere safe so I blocked off where she is at night so something doesn't eat her. What happens when she finally comes out with chicks? Will the others hurt them? Do I need to make a pen to keep them separated. This is the first time in 2 years that any of the girls successfully put a nest where I couldn't get it and the first broody I couldn't break so I need any information that could help please

Mama hen will usually be pretty protective of her babies, I don't think you have to worry about that, but I am by no means an expert. *waits for someone more knowlegeable to come along*

get her a seperate pen or a dog house and let her free range momma hens protectiveness will get her in trouble with the flock how far does she gotta go till the eggs hatch ?

I figure probably 2 weeks... I can't get her she is way under a small space under our screen house(it sits right on the ground, it is a wooden building)

no, I think she has only been on them for 1 week so I expect them to hatch in about 2 weeks
