Yesterday I didn't see one of my hens all morning, so at lunch I checked on her and found her sat happily in the nest box.
She'd pulled a load of feathers out and was sat on an egg.
I moved her and removed the egg. she joined the others for the rest of the day.
Today again, she sat in the nest box on an egg, she'd pulled some more feathers.
She's happy enough to come out when I move her and take the egg away...
how can I stop her?

1. Wire-bottomed cage so cool air gets to her underside
2. Cold water dunking
3. Ice cubes under her in the nest box

She doesn't seem to be too fixed on brooding but if she sticks with it you can put her in a wire cage for a few days with food and water. The cage floor has to be bare (no shavings or straw) to allow constant air flow to her chest. This brings down the temp of her chest and triggers the hormones to quit. For a really determined broody, I sometimes put ice cubes in the nest box for the same effect. You might have to move them around with her but it works well. Some just don't quit.... and so, in that case, I say "Buy some hatching eggs and enjoy having new babies that your hen will take care of!!!" Best of luck!
