Hello, everyone!
My Japanese Bantam was broody for 21 days and on day 22, we gave her a chick. She adopted the chick and the next day we gave her another. On the 3rd day (which I realize was prpbably too long) we gave her 2 more. The 1st chick was yellow, second was brown, and the 3rd and 4th are yellow and gray. She accepted the 2nd yellow one no problem. The gray one she took 1 look at and went after relentlessly. I took her away and tried to reintroduce her last night and when I checked this morning, she was outside of the kennel. I put her back in and mama hen just pecked her horribly again. I took her back out again and put her in the brooder. Should I give up on broody adopting the gray chick? Or try again tonight?
