We have a Black Americana hen (name Rietta), 3-4 years old, who went broody on the 14th. We put her in the time out cage in the garage on the 16th and kept her there 4 days. She looked like the broodiness broke, so we put her back outside with the flock. She hasn't laid an egg since the 15th and has gone back to sitting in a nest constantly. Do we need to re-isolate her in the cool garage area to break the broodiness? Thanks!
We have a tendency to get too close to these babies. By the time one of those little chicks was found out to be a rooster, they'd be named, loved, and pampered - plus we would have a video archive of their first steps, first flight, first watermelon...................
Sigh!
