I had 4 fertilized eggs. my broody hen hatched 3 of the eggs day 19 and I made the mistake of not separating her and the babies were killed. Now this last egg hasn’t hatched, it’s day 22, and last night she left the egg and roosted all night. This morning she’s back on the egg. Not sure my next step. I don’t even know if it’s alive, I didn’t even know the other eggs were alive either. I don’t hear anything, tried canoeing it yesterday, thought maybe the head was broken through into th air sack.

I don’t have an incubator for the egg and I’m assuming it’s dead since momma left it all night. Granted we’re in Florida the humidity is probably the ideal humidity and the temps are in the 80s at night.

What’s my next step?

This is the candles egg on day 21.

Looks dead to me. On day 21 it should have internally pipped and the air sac would be drawn down. And I don’t see any veins (on the clear bit near the air cell) which should be visible even if it’s ready to hatch.

Thank you! I cracked it open and it in fact is dead. It looked fully developed and great, idk what happened.
