Broody hen missing an egg *solved*

THERE IS 70% CHANCES MY LITTLE SISTER STOLE IT! But if not....

So we have a broody hen. She has bee sitting on 10 fertilized eggs for 2 weeks now.

As I was candling them today on day 14, I realized egg #10 was missing (since we numbered and marked them). I cleaned out the coop, looked under the broody, looked all over the ground, but there was no evidence of the egg. The chickens didn't have yolk or anything on their beaks.

I had candled that egg on day 7 and it showed signs of development.

I doubt it's a predator, our coop is lifted off the ground and there is a foot of snow outside.
But like I said, it might be my mad little sister who brought it to school...

But she has stolen many things and is not a really behaved child...

The other possibility is that the broody has it tucked under her wing.... it can happen and they can even carry them like that from one nest to another.

Well now I feel very stupid.

The hen did have it tucked in very near her...
