Broody hen--no eggs

One of my hens, who already hatched a chick in May, is broody again. Since we don't want anymore chicks, we've been checking her daily for eggs and the one egg we found under her, we took. That egg was found several weeks ago and she hasn't sat on any others, but she's still broody.

Is there a way to snap her out of it? Egg production for us has been fairly low since she has gone broody--including her, I have 4 laying hens, one of which JUST started laying (her baby from May), one of which is heavily into her molt, and one that is currently raising chicks and therefore isn't laying.

Thank you!

my copper maran hen (not even a year old yet) no longer lays, but sits in laying box - that everyone else wants - and keeps their eggs warm - i pull her out when I'm up there - but what to do??????

You need to put her in a prison. The prison has to have wired floor, so when she sits, nothing warms up and her bottom will stay cold, after a few days of that, she will probably stop being broody. There are a few articles about it on the website. One of which is mentioned above.
