Broody hen on chicken and duck eggs I have a ?

I asked this in the broody hen hatch along but no one answered it. So I will ask here.

I have a broody BA her eggs are due to hatch either 2,3,4th. This is my first broody hen. I was able to look at the eggs she got off them to eat and I noticed that 3-4 of them are duck eggs and the others about 15 are chicken, the chicken eggs will hatch first, will she continue to sit on the duck eggs? they will take another 7 days to hatch.

She will leave the nest once the chicks have hatched. You will need a 'plan B' for the duck eggs.

Ok thanks for telling me that, I will make sure I have room in the bator for the duck eggs.

Another option is to immediately remove the chicks. If you do this, she MAY continue to set.

It is day 20 of my broody sitting so I have been checking on her and there is a nasty smell, will she keep sitting on the eggs if they are rotten?
