Iv got a broody hen on 6 eggs (day 22 now). When she was up I went and checked the eggs to find them cold. She followed me into the coop and got back on her eggs, acting protective. This was only one of two times I’ve seen her leave the coop (I have food and water in there for her) I candled one egg and there were no signs of life. Why would she be letting them get cold? (This is her first time going broody) And now what? ..should I get her some chicks?

Had you been keeping a good eye on her, candled the eggs at any other stage??
Is she in the main coop with other birds who might lay in her nest?
Knowing more about the situation (your flock, goals, coop and run size, etc) would help us give better advice.
