I have a hen that went broody for the first time last week. She was sitting on the cluch up until this morning. I noticed she was out and about, a lot longer than the normal eat, drink, poop routine. When she went back into the coop, she started stilling on eggs I was going to pull today. The original clutch is still warm to the touch.

I'm very new to this!! What do I do?? Any help is apprecited!!

Thanks,
MJ

The hens get confused and don't usually know who's eggs are which. They just see another clutch of egg in a nesting box and sit on them instead. The best solution is to move her to a place with one nest so she don't sit on another hens eggs.

Thank you! That's what I will do today! Do you think the original clutch will be okay since she was off them for an hour or two?

They should be fine. My broody gets off the nest, in the beginning, for about an hour, and she always has some hatch.

They should be fine. Just to be sure, I would candle them in a few days to see if they are still developing.
