Hello all I had a small problem rise to me this morning. I noticed my hen who usually lays daily has stopped laying and will only sit on top of a ledge of her coop and will bite me if I try to move or touch her. I know she does not like being touched when she lays but she’s been like this for a few days more and has stopped laying. She sits there but there’s no eggs so I’m not sure. I’m concerned if she’s egg bound or if she’s become broody. I don’t mind her being broody just this is my first time with a broody hen like this as I hatch out all my chicks with an incubator much help would be appreciated thank you all

These are my go-to signs of a broody:
Is she on nest most the day and all night?
When you pull her out of nest and put her on the ground, does she flatten right back out into a fluffy screeching pancake?
Does she walk around making a low cluckcluckcluckcluckcluck(ticking bomb) sound on her way back to the nest?

If so, then she is probably broody and you'll have to decide how to manage it.

Yes she does! Barely lets me Touch her without a few pecks or squabbling in exchange. I decided to test it because I was curious and I got a few eggs and gave em to her and she put them under her so she is definitely broody!
