Broody Hen Part II

Ok well I heard different ways to break a hen the lastest was to put her in a pen with just food and water . So between yesterday and this am I built a pen for the hen .
Now do I leave her in there over night ? Do I put her back into the coop with the others ?
Anybody have answers for me please . Sorry about the first pic , thats one of our new chicks .

Nice digs. I keep mine in Broody Prison for a few days, then let them out to see if they have broken. Mine usually sleep in Prison if not broken b/c I don't get up w/ my girls and the broody might go right back to the nest at 6a.

But what do I know? I've got a Cuckoo Maran that is heading into her second week of brood. ARGH.

Well thanks ! I am going to leave her there . Even though I feel sorry for her! But if that what it takes I'm going to try it . Shes been broody for 1 1/2 already . Should I put a roost in there ?

What you have is perfect. Leave her in there night and day for at least three days. Of course you'll feel bad for her but that's what you have to do. Most will be broken of it in three days, some take longer. No, don't put a roost in there. She's fine, really. So long as she has food and water she'll be alright.

Thanks ! I will do just that ! although this AM I thought a miracle happened ! But it didnt ! So back into prison she went !
