If its summer dunk the chickens lower body in water to cool their belly and place them in a wire cage hung from the ceiling.AS long as they have food and water and a wide board to sit on they'll be fine for a day or 2 there .No chicken in its right mind will stay broody thru that

I use blocks of ice in the broody cage. Make sure she has something like a 2x4 for her feet so she doesn’t get frostbite on her toes. And likewise if she has a bald patch on her chest make sure to pack the ice over her feathers.

I've only had to do it once
