broody hen questions

I have a few questions.
Broody hen poop is giant dog size poop?
If I go to remove her eggs at night will the light of the flash light bother her?
Will she only sit for 21 days?

Any help would be appreciated. I do not plan on moving her, I am going to move everyone else and let her be free with her baby's.

broody hen poop that size is normal. The light won't bother her she'll probably scream at you (my hen screams at me when she is on her nest). She won't sit 21 days. she will sit until the chicks come out.

can you upload a pic? Is she sitting on all of them? 25 u s a lot She's determined. Shell really have her "hands" full. If youtake the eggs, put a small or a large rockin her nest. I had to do this with my hen because she made a nest under the roost and it was getting pretty nasty. I endlessly took my hand and messed her nest up until I got the idea of getting a rock and putting In her nest. After she seen she couldn't rebuild her nest she eventually started using the nest boxes. (This was back when she started laying her first eggs)

might I ask where the crooked toes will come from?

She has the crooked toes. I hatched some of her baby's and 2 had it. She is in her nest box. They came from her. My rooster does not ha e Crookes toes.

I would put the rock In there to unbroody her. You don't want her setting on nothing. If it was me I'd let her hatch some of them. But I'd also take some from her because 25 is too many

I do want her to sit. Just not on her own eggs. I am doing a swap. I am waiting till it get very dark to do a change.
Im just hoping my rooster does not attack me.

I just took 15 eggs from under her and placed 6 for her to hatch. She was very calm, and did not scream or anything. I spoke to her the whole tome though. It was mostly to comfort myself. LOL my rooster didn't like me in there with her. But I told him he would be dead if he bothered me. He stayed put too.
