Broody hen rejecting chick(injured new chick)

I'd take the eggs from her and put them in the incu to be human raised. It's up to you if you want to take her bonded chick or not, but it would probably pick at the red on the injured chicks head. I wouldn't give the broody any chicks besides the one she has for this brooding cycle.

That’s what I’m doing now, I appreciate the feedback, I’ll let her keep her single chick and hopefully the rest of these babies hatch soon so the injured chick isn’t so lonely.

I’m looking for a little advice now on this little injured chick. It was doing fine, up, eating and drinking. I noticed a few poops but not a ton. Now today it’s really quiet, having difficulty standing, walking backwards(more like shuffling) and not eating. I got it to drink a bit but it was just plain water and only a little. Thoughts? Please 🙏

I just saw this, how is the chick doing?

She’s still hanging in there, still a bit unsteady and walking with its wings out a bit. Drinking a little and trying to eat but not filling it’s crop so I’ve given it some raw yolk(it’s helped my weak chicks in the past) and she ate a few bites, perked up for a while and laid back down. I’m hopeful but realistic. Another chick has since hatched but I’m waiting a little longer to take it out of the incubator and let it join this one. I’ll see if I can post a video of the way it was moving.

My injured chick got B complex and vitamin E, and it seemed to make a difference.
