We have a BO hen that went broody and is sitting three eggs, which we marked, and she does leave the box daily for about an hour or so. We’ve noticed that on two separate times an egg has shown up with the three marked eggs. I know that all the other hens are out in the yard while she is out so I’m concluding that she is still laying. I did not think a broody laid any eggs. Teach me O Great chicken sages.

Hens will sometimes steal eggs from other nests. Just remove the ones that aren't marked so you don't end up with a staggered hatch.
Thanks for replying. I do understand that they may sometimes steal eggs but I cannot see anyway that she could in this instance. She is in one of three nest boxes with solid dividers between them AND they’re elevated off of the floor of the coop, AND there is a ledge built along the front edge of the boxes to keep the bedding in place.

I am curious if others have seen their hens relocating their eggs, and if so, how they go about it.
I have three examples I have observed.

1. Bernadette (RIP) who is not looking very successful in this video but actually was an accomplished egg mover. Always the same method - tucked under her ‘chin’.

2. Tassels (no video) who hid eggs under her wings - tucked into her ‘armpit’ - and managed to bring one with her into broody jail.

3. Piglet who tried this method today. A bit of a disaster, but certainly an innovative approach! Not her egg by the way.

Would love to hear other people’s experiences and see pictures and videos of their enterprising hens!
