Broody hen w/chicks

I have a hen with five, 4 week old chicks. My daughter's class hatched 9 of our eggs in an incubator and will be sending them back here at a little over a week old. My question is: is it possible to slip the peeps under my hen at night and have her take over? She has been great with the older chicks and I know that it is much easier if the hen gets to take over the "mom" duties instead of me! Has anyone done this or is it possible?

Wow, I would say that I would try to slip them in under the cover of night. However, with that being said, I would also have a brooder set up and ready just in case she doesn't. Either way, it sounds like those lil chicks coming back to you in a week or so are going to be well loved and cared for. Please keep us posted on how things turn out.
