Broody hen what to do

I only consider mine broody and give them the eggs I want them to hatch after they spend at least two nights in the nest. if they go back to the roos at night, they're not broody.

Good luck!

Do light sussex hens go broody much we have 3 light sussex but this one is different to the rest it has much puffier feathers is that anything to do with broodiness

Okay so I just researched it and light sussex hens typically go broody in their second year. And then they are great broody's. Doesn't mean it can't happen sooner though. As far as the fluffy feathers go hens are fluffier when the brood and it is usually the fluffier hens that make better mothers!
